The Manor House. The front portion of the house incorporates parts from the older medieval Palace. Externally the buttresses (right gable wall) of the original Palace are still visible.
Internally the original timbers are still visible in the roof. See the photograph below. This room was at one time used as a 'court room' to administer local justice.
The original Palace complex consisted of two quadrangles with moats. This remaining section is part of the accommodation quadrangle to the south east of the main palace quadrangle.
The palace was allowed to become derelict in Elizabethan times.
